Fierce storms, unrelenting waves and a constant battle with mental and physical fatigue; Boris Herrmann is sailing around the world, unassisted, in order to bring the climate crisis to the forefront of the world.

The Vendēe Globe is one of the toughest sailing challenges on the planet, and as part of Team Malizia, Herrmann will take a course around Antarctica, where he will experience climate change firsthand and use his platform to drive awareness, highlight solutions and inspire action through outreach.

“The Vendée Globe seems to be more than anything, a test of stamina, resilience and persistence"

Lack of sleep is certainly something he will be battling throughout the 75+ day journey as he heads to his final destination of Les Sables d’Olonne, France.

Team Malizia are using Boris to track sea salinity, water temperature and xCO2 levels as he cross the Southern Ocean, measurements that are crucial in understanding the changes happening with our climate such as the level of CO2 being absorbed by the water from the atmosphere.

VALLON is proud to launch the Howlin’ as the sunglasses of choice for Team Malizia, complete with a removable strap, resistant polarized TAC- Lens to block glare and 100% of UV rays.

We built the partnership on shared environmental values and a desire to help Boris and Team Malizia with their call to action in the current Climate Crisis.
